New Apple AirPods Pro to Function as Hearing Aids

Apple AirPods Pro to Function as Hearing Aids, according to reports.
According to reports, Apple is working on introducing new features to AirPods Pro that will enable them to function as hearing aids. Among the anticipated features, Apple is developing a function that can play various tones and sounds to test the wearer’s hearing, similar to how the Apple Watch’s ECG feature detects heart problems.
Additionally, Apple may include a component that measures the temperature in the wearer’s ear canal to monitor body temperature.
While current Apple Watch models already possess this capability, the temperature data collected with AirPods Pro is expected to be more accurate. Another work enhancement is replacing the Lightning port on the AirPods charging case with a USB-C port.
The shift towards USB-C aligns with Apple’s plan to ship the iPhone 15 with a USB-C port, indicating the eventual phasing out of the Lightning port. However, it remains to be seen whether this update will be released sooner than the other planned features.
Tech reporter Gurman, known for revealing Apple’s product plans, suggests that the AirPods Pro will be as significant as Apple’s recently released AR headset, the Vision Pro. While the headset includes built-in speakers, they are expected to be more compatible with the AirPods Pro for a more immersive and individualized experience.
The company has followed a three-year upgrade cycle since the release of the first Apple wireless earbuds on December 13, 2016. The 2nd generation was launched on March 20, 2019, and the third on October 26, 2021. In 2022, Apple refreshed its AirPods Pro.
Can Apple’s AirPods Pro Address Hearing Problems?
Concerns about the harmful effects of excessive gadget usage on human well-being exist. Technology has become an integral part of our daily lives and is believed to have certain disadvantages.
Studies indicate that people of all ages blink less frequently when focused on a screen, leading to dry eyes and potentially chronic migraines. Additionally, prolonged use of earbuds or devices that emit sound directly into the ears has been proven harmful to the eardrums.
In the nearest future, it is plausible to assume that the forthcoming features of Apple’s AirPods Pro might contribute to addressing the issue of hearing loss. By incorporating hearing aid functionalities, Apple aims to provide a solution that can help mitigate the negative consequences of excessive gadget usage.
