South African Singer, Tyla Floors Burna Boy, Asake, Rema, Tems, And Ayra Starr To Clinch Best Afrobeats Award At MTV EMAs 2024

South African singer Tyla has nabbed another music award by taking home the Best Afrobeats at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards.
MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) celebrated its 30th anniversary on Sunday, 10 November, presenting the best artists and firsts and showcasing the best of global music variety. Last night, the show was held at the Co-op Arena.
The MTV EMAs’ Best Afrobeats category had Nigerian artists such as Burna Boy, Tems, Rema, Asake, and Ayra Starr. But Tyla walked away with Best Afrobeats, a Nigerian genre.
In addition to the South African crooner, Best R&B and Best African Act went to the singer at the awards ceremony.
On the occasion of her Best Afrobeats award, she took her sister up stage.
“If you guys don’t know (her), this is my sister, Sydney (Seethal),” began Tyla followed by cheers from the audience. “Oh my gosh, guys – I can’t believe it.
“Literally, all the nominees are insane; they have literally taken Afrobeats so far. And I’m so honoured to be winning this award. You know,, it’s insane. But I just want to thank my team.
“I want to thank my family, the Tygers, for voting for me. Thank you to God, obviously. You know Afrobeats has opened so many doors for African music.”

Davido Trends As His New Rolls Royce And Tesla Cybertruck Land In Nigeria (PHOTOS)
Once again, Nigerian singer Davido has made headlines for proving his status as a rich man with two luxury cars entering Nigeria: a Rolls-Royce and a Tesla Cybertruck.
The musician posted a picture of the trip on social media, his pure white Rolls Royce parked on the runway, ready for shipment.
Another photo depicted the Tesla Cybertruck being loaded into an aircraft to verify the truck’s arrival in Nigeria.
Cubana Chief Priest, another close associate and entrepreneur, also saluted the new cars with an Instagram image. He congratulated Davido on his feats, dubbed him the “GOAT,” and hinted at a festive December with new vehicles added to the singer’s collection.

Show promoter Paul Okoye, popularly called PaulO, has slammed lawyer Deji Adeyanju for attributing Burna Boy to the re-arrest of singer Speed Darlington.
Deji announced on social media earlier today that his client, Speed Darlington, was re-arrested by police officials in Owerri, Imo State, on Tuesday, November 26.
He went on to claim that Burna Boy was responsible for the ”harassment” of his client by police officers.
It was then determined that Speed Darlington had been detained for violating his bail.
In response to the latest information about Speed Darlington’s arrest, Paulo urged Deji to get his facts straight and respect Burna Boy.

Singer Davido Gibe Nigerians Over His ‘Nigerian Economy Is In Shambles’ Comment
Nigerian superstar singer David Adeleke, famously known as Davido, has taken to social media to extend a gibe to Nigerians over his recent interview with a U.S. radio station where he asked Africans in the diaspora not to return to Africa as things are not ‘’good back home.”
In the interview, the singer Davido firmly said the Nigerian economy is in shambles.
