Cristiano Ronaldo, a renowned men’s football player, achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the first in history to score an impressive 900 goals in official matches.

This significant achievement was reached during Portugal’s UEFA Nations League match against Croatia, which took place in Lisbon on Thursday.

Ronaldo secured this historic goal with a well-executed volley from 6 yards, resulting from a precise cross from his teammate Nuno Mendes. This goal propelled Portugal to a 2-0 lead in the 34th minute of the match, and they ultimately secured a 2-1 victory.

Ronaldo’s exceptional goal-scoring prowess is further evidenced by his substantial lead over his closest competitor, Lionel Messi, who has scored 842 goals. Additionally, Brazilian football legend Pelé occupies the third position on this prestigious list with 765 goals.

It is worth noting that Ronaldo previously achieved another remarkable milestone by surpassing the 800-goal mark in late 2021 while playing for Manchester United during his second stint with the club.

Furthermore, Ronaldo holds the record for the most international goals scored, with an impressive tally of 131 goals in 209 appearances for Portugal. Once again, Messi follows closely behind Ronaldo on this list, sharing second place with former Iran forward Ali Daei, both having scored 109 goals.

In addition to Al Nassr and Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo has also distributed his 769 club goals across Sporting CP, Real Madrid, and Juventus.

The 39-year-old has made it known that he has no plans of slowing down in the near future and recently stated that he is already setting his sights on his next goal milestone.

“I want to reach 1,000 goals,” he told his former Man United teammate Rio Ferdinand on his YouTube channel, estimating that the historic mark could come around the age of 41.

“If I don’t have any injuries, this is the most important [thing] for me, and I want that. For me, the best mark that I can have in football is to reach 900 goals first. After, my challenge is to be at 1,000 goals.”

In the spirit of healthy competition, Ronaldo promptly highlighted the distinguishing features of his goals compared to those achieved by other renowned scorers throughout history, including legendary figures like Pele and Alfredo Di Stefano, who performed in eras characterized by limited camera usage.

He added, “All the goals I have scored, they have video.

He added, “All the goals I have scored, they have video.

“They all have video. Listen, I respect all of them [Pele and Di Stefano]. And if you want more goals, I can bring them from training, too. And I will prove to the people after. They prefer this player, or this is the best one. I don’t care about that.”
