26-Year-Old Nigerian Student In The UK Bags 40-Month Jail Sentence Over Planned Bomb Attempt On Dundee University

A Nigerian master’s student at Dundee University in Scotland received a 40-month prison sentence for threatening to carry out acts of terrorism against faculty, staff, and other students.

According to a BBC report, Somtochukwu Okwuoha, 26, will be deported after a Peth Sheriff Court found him guilty.

Okwuoha is an overseas student studying energy studies who came to the UK in 2021.

He admitted to workers that he had planned to launch a chemical assault on the city and that he had recruited the lethal terror group ISIS to assist in bombing the university.

Witnesses told the court that the student had claimed to have a military background and was capable of building explosives and spreading a terrible virus over the city.

“Your presence in the United Kingdom is not conducive to the public good,” Sheriff William Wood declared. “I make a recommendation for your deportation in due course.”

“You were abusive towards her and tried to have her removed from her university course,” after he had threatened a fellow female student who refused his advances.

“The university decided to suspend you from your course, and you turned your attention towards staff.

“You threatened mass murder and terrorism, said you would plant bombs and use biological weapons,” the charge read.

Okwuoha, a prisoner in Perth, was found guilty of undertaking terrorist acts between December 2021 and June 2022 and making threats to kill university employees.

He was found guilty of utilizing biological weapons, threatening to carry out mass murder, disclosing personnel information to foreign agencies, and pretending to have hidden bombs.

In addition, he was found guilty of planting bombs at Dundee University and threatening to detonate them and behead police officers.

In Perth Sheriff Court, a 58-year-old retired director of student services named Keith Mackle said he learned of “serious concerns” in the autumn of 2021.

Employees were sent emails with threats against terrorists, he claimed.

“Expect a massive bomb explosion at the University of Dundee. I have contacted ISIS terrorists to plant bombs on campus.

“I can assure you staff and students will die in great numbers. 9/11 will be a joke compared to what will happen.

“Blood will spill, and flesh will be scattered,” another witness stated.

Accommodation officer Shane Taylor told the court Okwuoha accused him of being racist and said he planned to wipe out Scottish people as revenge.

He noted that he couldn’t follow the predefined path of growth, which was why he came out to declare his sexual orientation.
