In Her words:

“The Issue of quackery in nursing is one of the top agendas that I currently have on my table; some days ago, I received some information about some set of people setting up a school of nursing that the Nigerian Nursing and Midwifery Council has not accredited.

“We will work with the government and other relevant agencies to curb this societal abnormality. As a patient, it is your right to enquire about the qualifications of health workers, especially nurses, before allowing them to administer medication or treatment.

“The general public should not allow anyone not professionally licensed by the regulatory council to treat them.” She advised.

Speaking on the investment opportunities and other benefits to be made accessible to the members, she emphasized the need to focus on the welfare of the members.

She further disclosed that training, workshops and seminars will be organized for the members to breed professionalism in the sector.

“Well, the most important thing in unionism is the welfare of its members. If the welfare of the members is not considered first, then there will be little or nothing to be achieved.

“As a new administration, we are focusing more on the welfare of our members, especially uniform allowance for our members. Where I am coming from, we are privileged to be given uniform allowances yearly. I assume that I learned that the nurses here are not enjoying that, so that we will work on this for our nurses.

“Aside from that, I want to work on investment opportunities for our members as we all know that with the current economic instability in the country, one source of income cannot be enough to cater to the needs, most importantly, civil servants.

“To this end, we are contemplating investment plans for the nurses. Also, my administration will look into education for our members through periodic training, workshops and seminars. We will also encourage our members to press further and move on with their education to be useful for themselves and society”.

He noted that he couldn’t follow the predefined path of growth, which was why he came out to declare his sexual orientation.
