Nigerians Planning To Embark On Nationwide Protest Should ‘Repent, Seek 4giveness And Divine Intervention’ -Jigawa State Gov, Umar Namadi

Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has advised Nigerians contemplating a nationwide strike due to the current economic hardships to “repent, seek forgiveness, and divine intervention” instead of taking to the streets in protest.

Speaking at a town hall meeting on Monday, July 22, with 27 groups in Dutse, Governor Namadi urged citizens to view the economic challenges as a test from God.

“There are many ways people could express their grievances; people are at liberty to display their grievances through protest under democratic dispensation, but that is not the most effective way to address the problems.

The protest alone will not provide the solutions; people should turn to God, repent, seek for forgiveness and divine intervention on the challenges.”

Several groups, including the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), reportedly distanced themselves from the proposed protest.

Bisi further added that an average man expects to follow a predefined path of growth, which includes teenage years through university level, to get a degree and a job.

He noted that he couldn’t follow the predefined path of growth, which was why he came out to declare his sexual orientation.

”I am not coming out to spite you; I have been gay since way back; I didn’t just become gay yesterday.”
