Pastor Adeboye Applauds Subsidy Removal, Says, ‘If Not For God’s Intervention, One Dollar Would Have Equal N10,000.’
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, explained that if God had not intervened, one dollar would have been equal to N10,000.
The General Overseer of the RCCG, who urged in 2012 that the subsidy be scrapped, said President Bola Tinubu’s move to scrap the petrol subsidy was good for the economy.
Speaking at the Special Holy Ghost Congress in Abuja, Adeboye emphasised that, prior to Tinubu, the economy had been mired in oil importation.
Nigeria, he lamented, was spending billions on four refineries without making much headway.
He also accused those who got a subsidy cut off making economic issues worse ‘’cause we need aid, not man’s help, but God’s.
Pastor Adeboye said, “Before our current president took office, we were aware that the root of our financial issues lay in the importation of petrol. Despite having oil, we continued to import petrol and waste billions on refineries that did not operate effectively.
“When the president cancelled the subsidy on petrol imports, those who benefited from it became upset and created more problems.”
According to reports made by Guardian, the RCCG Overseer stated that as the naira continued to decline rapidly, he prayed and was grateful that others joined him in prayer.

A short-statured Ghanaian woman has sparked online debate after making contentious remarks regarding her romantic relationship preferences.
During a recent interview with De God Son TV, the diminutive lady expressed her aversion to dating guys of shorter height despite her diminutive Ghanaian woman. She remarked that short men do not match her “specifications” for relationships.
When questioned about her explanation, she stated that she sees shorter men as resembling infants, even though they are adults.
“I have a 7-year-old son, so dating a short man feels like dating my son,” she explained, finding parallels between her personal and romantic lives.
