“You’ll Be Dealt With”. FG Threatens Civil Servants Who Leak Sensitive Documents.

The FG threatens civil servants who leak sensitive documents, saying, “You’ll Be Dealt With.”
The Federal Government has implemented severe measures to curb the leak of confidential official documents.
Leaked memoranda providing official information on the presidency have recently incited public uproar. People, civil society organisations, organised labour, and the opposition have all criticised how the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is being run.
A letter from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, was among the stolen documents. It disclosed that N500 million, rather than N1 billion, would be used to establish the Federal Government’s Tripartite Committee on Minimum Wage.
To stop this, Folashade Yemi-Esan, the Head of the Federation’s federal Service, sent out a memo on February 19 cautioning all federal servants against disseminating and leaking official papers and information.
The letter, made public on the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation’s website, stated that any officer involved in such behaviour would face harsh penalties in line with the Public Service Rules and other applicable legislation.

The memo, which was tagged HCSF/3065/VI/189, also gave all Permanent Secretaries instructions to expedite the transition to the digitalized workflow system and guarantee the successful implementation of the Enterprise Content Management Solution.
“With dismay, we have noted the rise in incidents involving the leakage of confidential government papers from Ministries, Departments, and Agencies. This is inappropriate since it embarrasses the government significantly.
“All permanent secretaries are expected to expedite the transition to the digitalized workflow system and guarantee the efficient implementation of the Enterprise Content Management Solution as part of the endeavours to halt this unwanted development.
This will lessen the need for direct physical interaction with official papers, which will help curb the growing number of leaks and distributions. Permanent secretaries should also forcefully caution all employees against disseminating and leaking government papers and information.

Coming out as HIV positive was harder than coming out as gay — Gay activist Bisi Alimi
Bisi further added that an average man expects to follow a predefined path of growth, which includes teenage years through university level, to get a degree and a job.
He noted that he couldn’t follow the predefined path of growth, which was why he came out to declare his sexual orientation.
Bisi Alimi further said that his making his sexual orientation public doesn’t mean he did to throw a party, but rather to shun all expected people placed on him.
”I am not coming out to spite you; I have been gay since way back; I didn’t just become gay yesterday.”
