Trouble Looms As Naira Marley Demands Apology From Nollywood Actress Iyabo Ojo For Defamation Or Face N500M Lawsuit In Damages

Afeez Fashola, widely recognised as Naira Marley, has issued a legal threat to Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, indicating his intention to pursue a lawsuit seeking N500 million in damages.

Naira Marley, represented by the law firm Olalekan Ojo (SAN) & Co, sent a letter to Iyabo Ojo, alleging the dissemination of false and defamatory content concerning the artist on her Instagram account.

In the letter below, Iyabo Ojo purportedly accused Naira Marley, in a September 2023 Instagram post, of engaging in spiritual and physical dealings with the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad.

The legal representative of Naira Marley further asserted that Iyabo Ojo accused his client of causing mental harm to Mohbad. The letter specified a demand for an apology to be published on Iyabo Ojo’s official Instagram account and in a national daily within seven days of receiving the letter.

Failure to comply with this request, as outlined in the letter, would prompt the initiation of legal proceedings, with Naira Marley seeking damages amounting to N500 million from the actress.
