The GRAMMY organisers have announced a program of events building up to the 2025 Grammy Awards main event, which will take place at the Arena in Los Angeles next year.

FMT Blog noted that the 2025 Grammy Awards season is currently in full swing, with the nomination ceremony slated for Friday, November 8, 2024.

In light of the year’s tremendous transformations, the Recording Academy has made several changes to various prize categories to “enhance the integrity and inclusivity of the GRAMMY Awards,” according to authorities.

These updated categories are intended to accord with current industry standards and showcase a broader range of musical genres.

The live broadcast on live.GRAMMY.com, which is eagerly anticipated by both fans and industry professionals, will reveal which musicians are competing for the music industry’s most coveted awards.

The Academy’s website recently published information on these upgraded categories.

FMT BLOG confirms that the Academy has added a “Best Dance Pop Recording” category this year, replacing the old Best Pop Dance Recording, as well as reorganising the Best Remixed Recording category inside the Pop & Dance/Electronic Field.

These changes represent the Academy’s commitment to embracing the changing music landscape, resulting in an awards process that really “empowers creators,” as stated by Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr.

In his message to the voting members, Mason emphasised the GRAMMY’s rich past as a 67-year institution, emphasising that “every vote has the power to shape the future of music.”

Furthermore, today’s nominees serve as a prelude to the grand conclusion, the 67th GRAMMY Awards, which will be live-streamed from Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on Sunday, February 2nd.

In addition, the Academy has modified the qualifying and submission rules, particularly in the Songwriter of the Year category, which now allows songwriters to qualify with fewer songs, intending to “welcome more voices” into the field.

The following is an official timeline of key dates leading up to the 2025 Grammy Awards:

Product Eligibility Period: September 16, 2023–August 30, 2024. To be considered for a GRAMMY in 2025, all recordings must be made public throughout this time period.

July 8, 2024–August 23, 2024: Media Company Registration Period To submit recordings, media companies must first register with the Recording Academy.

Online Entry Period: July 17, 2024 to August 30, 2024. Eligible recordings must be submitted during this time period, regardless of when they were released publicly.

First Round Voting: Members cast ballots to choose the nominees for each GRAMMY category between October 4 and October 15, 2024.
