Reactions As A Nigerian Nurse In The UK Got Fired And Sets For Imminent Deportation For Praying On Duty
Nigerian Nurse In The UK Got Fired And Sets For Imminent Deportation For Praying On Duty
A controversial situation involving a Nigerian nurse working in the UK resulted in her termination and deportation.

The incident started when the nurse—whose name is being withheld—allegedly prayed for an elderly patient she was caring for without asking.
Dr. Olufunmilayo recounted the terrible situation on Twitter, which led to the story’s discovery.
The story goes that the Nigerian nurse, who specialized in caring for the elderly, had been employed by an organization in the UK.

But when she supposedly prayed for a patient who had a fatal illness, her activities took an unexpected turn.
I just read the sad story of a Nigerian who came to the UK and was employed by an agency to work as a carer for elderly people. She was assigned to care for an elderly patient who was dying, and she was reported for “praying for the client to get better”. Yeah. She got sacked and deported.”
The nurse suffered serious repercussions for her ostensibly altruistic deed, including losing her job and being deported back to Nigeria.
Dr. Olufunmilayo clarified the matter by pointing out that ethical guidelines in the UK prohibit medical professionals from forcing their religious beliefs on their patients.
Dr. Olufunmilayo wrote a justification for the dismissal and subsequent deportation.
For those expressing shock at the sack and deportation, let me explain further. As a health worker/carer in the UK, it is unethical to involve religion or impose your religious views on patients/clients. It’s seen as an abuse of trust and misuse of your position. You are expected to simply do your job and focus on your job.”

@big_Samin commented; “She’s not employed to pray but rather to work for the elderly patients. Nigerian with the mentality that prayers solved everything.”
@Obaibueku said; “She doesn’t know her work ethics. She learnt the hard way. If I’m planing to travel to Japan, I for don study the country, watch YouTube videos, read personal blogs and posts on forums. Know how they behave there.”

Bisi further added that an average man expects to follow a predefined path of growth, which includes teenage years through university level, to get a degree and a job.
He noted that he couldn’t follow the predefined path of growth, which was why he came out to declare his sexual orientation.
Bisi Alimi further said that his making his sexual orientation public doesn’t mean he did to throw a party, but rather to shun all expected people placed on him.
”I am not coming out to spite you; I have been gay since way back; I didn’t just become gay yesterday.”
