23-Year-Old Kenyan Bride Cancels Her Wedding a few hours to the biggest ceremony of ones life- See why

A 23-year-old Kenyan bride named Nelly Chepkoech has reportedly called off her wedding just a few hours before the scheduled ceremony. Nelly and her fiancé, Amos, were supposed to exchange vows on Saturday, December 9, 2023, in Bomet County.

As reported by Citizen Digital, Nelly contacted the priest, Pastor Clement Chalulot of Kapsoyo AGC Church, a few hours before the ceremony, expressing her wish to postpone the wedding.

According to the publication, the unexpected twist occurred when Nelly revealed her hesitance to go ahead with the wedding, stating that she needed more time to decide to formalise their marriage.

Pastor Chalulot explained, “The communication from the presiding reverend that the bride had changed her mind halted everything and brought the entire plans to a halt.”

Leaked WhatsApp conversations from the wedding committee’s group disclosed a message circulated to inform members and the public about the unforeseen change in plans.

“Hi everyone, hope you are fine. Thanks for your support towards Amos and Nelly’s wedding. This is an official communication to our members here and the public at large. OUR SCHEDULED WEDDING PLANNED FOR TOMORROW has been postponed until further notice. We will communicate with you, and we are sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks for your understanding,” stated a committee member.

Curiosity and speculation surged within the group, leading concerned members to seek clarification on the abrupt change.

A close friend of the couple and a member of the wedding committee responded, disclosing that Nelly had expressed reservations about moving forward with the wedding.

“Good morning friends, many friends of Amos and Nelly are calling me asking me why the wedding was postponed. The MAIN REASON is NELLY REQUESTED TO BE GIVEN MORE TIME. The CHURCH and the parents from both sides CONSIDERED her request. Thanks for understanding.”

Despite this explanation, members of the WhatsApp group persisted in seeking more details, questioning whether Nelly was the reason for the postponement.

“Tell us why the wedding has been postponed. Let’s see if we can help our girl; it’s important for us to know if she is the cause of the postponement. I see you people keep mentioning Amos, Amos [like he is the cause])”

Meanwhile, speculation mounted regarding Nelly’s sudden change of heart, with some suggesting that her former lover had reappeared.

It was discovered that Nelly had been in a five-year relationship with her ex and had been dating the groom, Amos, for six months.
