Following Senegal’s 3-1 victory over Cameroon in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, head coach Aliou Cisse was admitted to the hospital due to stomach pains.

FMTBLOG gathered that the 47-year-old coach is fully recovering despite the health scare. But unfortunately, he will be absent when the team returns to training tomorrow because of his illness. Tomorrow.

The Senegal coach, admitted in a hurry in Ivory Coast, will stay the night in the hospital.

According to former Senegalese superstar, El Hadji Diouf who gave updates on Cisse’s health, He confirmed that Cisse is doing well and emphasised how stressful football can be, adding that stress can occasionally appear as physical problems like stomach aches. Diouf had confirmed Cisse’s successful recovery over the phone.

Since Cisse is a vital team member, this incident has caused alarm in the Senegalese camp. Since 2015, he has served as Senegal’s coach. He guided the Teranga Lions to victory in the postponed 2021 AFCON competition in Cameroon.

Recall that Senegal advanced to the Round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar under his management.

Senegal expects to have Cisse back for their last Group C match against Guinea. Senegal has already advanced to the AFCON 2023 knockout stage with wins in their first two games.

All they need to do to top their group is draw in this game.

The circumstances are similar to those of the 2022 World Cup, when Cisse, too, fell unwell but recovered in time for a crucial match.
