West Midlands Fire Chief Wayne Brown, Who Has Been Under Investigation For ‘Lying About Having Master’s Degree
The West Midlands Fire Chief, Wayne Brown, was discovered dead at his residence following an inquiry into allegations that he falsified having a master’s degree to secure a high-paying job.
Mr. Brown, who took on the chief of West Midlands Fire and Rescue Authority in the UK last year, was accused of fabricating his qualifications and involvement with Charlton Athletic when applying for the 180,000-a-year position.
Despite impressing his superiors with a Master of Business Administration degree from London South Bank University, an investigation was initiated after the university stated they had no record of his degree.
Shortly after that, Mr. Brown removed this information from his LinkedIn account. The West Midlands Fire and Rescue Authority confirmed Mr. Brown’s passing at home in a Wednesday evening statement.
Greg Brackenridge, chairman of the service, expressed devastation at the news and emphasized that Mr. Brown’s death was not considered suspicious by West Midlands Police.
The statement also requested privacy and support for Mr. Brown’s family and colleagues during this tragic time. West Midlands Police similarly announced that they were not treating Mr. Brown’s death as suspicious.
‘We can confirm that we attended an address in Birmingham this morning where the body of a man in his 50s was sadly found,’ the force said.
‘The death is not being treated as suspicious, and we are liaising with the local coroner.
‘A formal identification will take place in due course.
‘Specialist officers and our thoughts are supporting the man’s family, who are with them now.’
Mr Brown had been under investigation by the fire service after claims he had falsify his qualifications to prospective employers.

“I have a 7-year-old son, so dating a short man feels like dating my son,” she explained, finding parallels between her personal and romantic lives.
